We are proud to present that Ecoist, supported by Pontis Foundation, has won Slovak-Aid funded project “Aarhus Convention in Serbia – Implementation in Practice: Toward the EU experience of Slovak Republic”.

The objective of the project is to investigate and transfer Slovakia’s experience in adjustiment of environmental standards, procedures and measures which are applied through the prism of the Aarhus convention. Serbia has ratified Aarhus Convention in 31.07.2009, thus becoming 47th member state of the Convention.

The three pillars of Aarhus convention is improvement of public access to environmental information, participation in decision making processes and access to justice in environmental matters in the Republic of Serbia. |
The Project is designed to provide a combination of research activities and promotion the idea of participation to the concept of representative democracy.
This project will help further the Republic of Serbia as well as relevant institutions, CSOs and local communities to more effectively and efficiently fulfil its important and expanding role in raising awareness about importance of the Aarhus Convention and its implementation.
